Golden-ringed dragonfly
I interpreted Nakamura Kaede’s original dragonfly model by transforming a single subject into a story of two individuals.
In the original design, the two wings on the same side are connected by a section of paper. During folding, I modified this structure to create a more open and visually refined separation between the wings, allowing their form to be presented more naturally.
I then created two distinct dragonflies through different paper choices, hand-painting, and color treatments, and arranged them in a natural mating posture inspired by real dragonfly behavior. The two individuals visually contrast yet complement one another, becoming more than separate models. Their brief encounter expresses the idea behind the title, Heart to Heart — two lives, two journeys, one encounter, one fleeting moment.
